Mike Dyson
From a young age I was always active, playing football, going on bike rides with my friends, you name it, I did it. After joining the Army Reserves, I got the fitness bug and this is where my fitness journey began. I have passed military fitness tests, completed obstacle course races, 10k runs, half marathons, summited the three highest peaks in Britain, among many other adventures. I am currently working with Rotherham United Women's Football Team as the Strength & Conditioning coach. To me fitness isn't about six packs and bulging muscles, but about being able to complete day to day activities without any pain or discomfort. The older we get, the harder daily activities become and this is what I base my training programs around. A lot of the basic human movements can be replicated in the gym and this is where people begin to realise how important movements such as the squat are to daily life. I enjoy helping people accomplish their goals and to start living a life that will allow them the freedom of movement as they get older. I have studied many qualifications in the fitness industry that have allowed me to understand the different ways in which fitness can help us as humans as we age. I am currently studying a Sports, Fitness and Coaching BSc Honours Degree, which will only further my knowledge in the industry.
